I met Tracy 3 months ago and that was the best that could happen to me. In January I was in the Hospital because of my lower back pain. I couldn’t walk and do the basic activities because of the pain. I did MRI scan and it showed that I have 2 discs protrusion, nerve pressure, osteopyth formation visible, dehydration of the discs. At that moment I felt like everything was over, because I was always a very active person. I my head was only a thought that from now on my life will not be the same. Tracy changed my attitude. After first session I could feel a huge relief. She is a specialist with a very wide practical and theoretical knowledge. Her personality and approach to the problem makes my feel better and more confident. I received a lot of psychological support because there is nothing worse than stress which accompanies us during rehabilitation. Often when I needed advice, Tracy was able to call me and support me. Thanks to her, I understood that regular exercise is the key to have a healthy spine. Thanks to her today I have a personal trainer and every day I feel that both my body and the soul are stronger. Thank you 🙂

I would unhesitatingly recommend Tracy. I went to see her because of a blocked neural pathway in my neck- very painful, and I was sceptical about the chances of it improving without surgical intervention. But I noticed a significant improvement within 2-3 weeks, and my problem has now been fully resolved. Her approach was professional, supportive and empathetic in equal measure. Sounds a bit of a cliche, but I'd say her overall approach was to treat the person, and not just the symptoms- and I felt that that really helped my recovery.

I first went to see Tracy 18 months ago with frozen shoulder . I was in a lot of pain and had heard about a technique which I googled and found Tracy. I can’t express how grateful I am to have found her ! She has helped me immensely with both my shoulders, given me excellent advice in all respects. My shoulder had a real turning point after a few months of seeing Tracy and I continue to see her on a weekly basis for osteopathy to keep me injury free. I would recommend Tracy wholeheartedly - she has the most unbelievable knowledge of human anatomy and being sporty herself understands all the issues I’ve had. I even recommended her to my GP!

Tracy is such a professional - she gets right to the problem and has a sensitive, kind personal style. I have persistent back issues and she is making progress in a more considered way than other practitioners have in the past.

I've been using Tracy now for a few years for a couple of different issues, and each time after the session, I feel immediately better in the affected areas. She gives good home programmes to strengthen and repair, which I find very beneficial. The studio is warm and welcoming, and Tracy's demeanor throughout the appointment is perfect. She will definitely put you at ease during your visit, and the results are always very good from my point of view. I would highly recommend!

Tracy has worked wonders on my back! When I first visited her in 2015 I was suffering with regular back spasms and joint pain from multiple old injuries that had built up over the years. Over the course of a few treatment sessions she had helped me work out the core pain and even gave me additional treatment on an old shoulder problem that was bothering me as well as providing me with helpful advice on how to manage my recurring issues. After some more visits the work she did on my back was so good I didn't need anymore treatments for well over year and went pain free for the longest period I can remember since the initial problems began. The service is affordable, comfortable and friendly highly recommended!

Thank you, Tracy, for treating my frozen shoulder. Thank you for the relaxed and friendly treatment. When I started with Tracy, it was my seventh month, I had tried a Chiropractor and though it helped with some pains, the shoulder remained totally stiff and stuck. After second treatment with Tracy, through gentle manipulation, I started getting my movements back. Though I still have inflammation in the capsulitis at the front so it is stil painful, the treatment is relaxed, and absolutely without any pain. With every session I can see me shoulder gets some more and more movements back. Thank you again.

I have visited Tracy for two separate unrelated problems over the last year- a neck problem, and a sports-related knee problem. I recommend her highly. Her clinical examination and analysis of the the root cause of problems is very considered, thorough and well explained. The treatment is therefore focused and - most importantly - effective. I have had the need to visit various osteopaths and physios over the years, many with smart treatment rooms at smart addresses, but there is no-one I would rather visit for smart assessment and smart treatment than Tracy.

I went to Tracy with the start of a frozen shoulder some months ago. I've had two before and I know how awful they are. She has been amazing. Reassuring, constructive and encouraging. It's now well in the mend and I owe it to Tracy. In just a few sessions she turned it around and saved me from months of misery. I can't recommend her highly enough.

This was my first visit to an Osteopath and I didn't know what to expect. I had felt a certain discomfort particularly on the upper back, neck and jaw area. After a thorough examination, Tracy Hannigan clearly explained what was causing this discomfort and how she would proceed to work on the area to provide relief. I truly appreciated her caring approach - from listening to examining to explaining and then gently treating the area, putting firm yet comfortable pressure on the precise points to release tension. I felt an immediate relief! Tracy also gave me a few stretching tips, which definitely helps.

Tracy Hannigan helped me fix my frozen shoulder and I'm so grateful. If I could give her 10 stars I would. I first went to see Tracy in December 2015. I was in a great deal of pain and I was feeling nervous because I know how long these injuries can take to heal. Tracy very gently manipulated my shoulder and gradually the movement increased. She really understands these injuries and gave me some exercises to do between my visits, which I religiously followed every day. She was also always positive with me, which massively helped because I felt undermined by being in such pain and with the lack of movement. It would have been so easy for me to have given up hope, but Tracy helped me stick in there. I had four appointments with her with two week gaps and then I had to leave London for the West Country. However, I kept up the exercises and gradually brought in more challenging ones. Now in July 2016, I'm almost completely healed. I can do full push ups with no pain in my shoulder. This is a miracle cure of six months enabled by Tracy Hannigan. I cannot thank her enough and I highly recommend her.

Tracy is a real miracle. I called Tracy's practice for the first time as I was experiencing extreme lower back pain due to ensuring stress and a bad sitting position zi had developed over years. Which, in acute phase, could result in me being not able to stand/ walk. I managed to have an appointment with Tracy the next day in the morning and a series of 4 bi-weekly appointments after that. Tracy took the time to understand my condition, provide me with sitting recommendations and stop the pain in no time. Since then, I went on to a 100 miles walk across the Cotswolds and I am enjoying the outdoors fearlessly like never before !! Thanks Tracy 🙂

Tracy is fantastic. I've had SI joint pain for about two years, and I had been to another osteopath about a year ago without much luck. It generally would fade but not go away and then would come back more strongly again later when I was exercising or lifting things. I saw Tracy and after just a few sessions the pain was actually gone for the first time since the original injury! That was a few months ago and it still hasn't returned, even after a trip where I was walking a lot every day with a backpack. She is also very friendly, informative and happy to answer any questions you have. She's really accommodating with appointment times and I've used her website to book last-minute appointments, very convenient. I would really recommend her!

An old shoulder injury had started to get painful and affect my upper arm. It was getting extremely painful and I could not play sport, let alone play with my 3 young children. Tracy's approach was to treat surrounding areas first before treating the shoulder. She then explained some stretches that would help recovery. It worked a charm and i'm back on the tennis court again. Tracy was friendly, a very intuitive listener and very professional. I thoroughly recommend her.

I came to Tracy after moving house and therefore needing to transfer Osteopaths. She was very welcoming and understanding. She picked up where my last Osteopath had left off and broadened my route to recovery. I would thoroughly recommend her as an Osteopath. She is easy to talk to, knowledgeable and considerate. I will remember her advice and continue her techniques for as long as it takes.

I have suffered from lower back pain for many years after a skiing accident and was recommended by a friend to see Tracy. She has assessed my problem, given great treatment and recommended stretches and activities that have been really effective. Most recently I was treated by Tracy after I was knocked off my bicycle and she was a massive help to make sure I suffered no long term problems after the accident.I have always found Tracy utterly professional and genuinely caring. Her diagnosis and treatment has been spot on and definitely improved my quality of life as a result. Her treatment has helped me to continue leading the active life that I enjoy so much.

In a word I would describe Tracy as Excellent! I visit her with thoracic back problems (which I have suffered for years), Hip and elbow injuries and she immediately gets to the root of the problem and eases me back to health. She is extremely knowledgeable and skilled in her craft and I always leave feeling great, on the mend and ready for the world. I have seen other professionals over the years regarding my back but this is the first time I have had such a dramatic improvement to the point where I now do not see my back as a problem area! Excellent.

When Tracy first began to treat me, I had such bad lower back pain that it was unpleasant for me to walk and my self-confidence was draining away. It was probably an occupational disorder of the desk-bound and a slight scoliosis. Tracy went to work with her osteopathic magic. She has a deep knowledge of anatomy and many relevant qualifications; these are showing up in her work on various muscles of mine. This work combined with some exercises she recommended are gradually making me better as they are helping to strengthen my core muscles. She has also improved the ergonomics of my home office.I am now well on the way to being able to walk again with pleasure. I heartily recommend her work to any one with posture problems and/or back pain.

I went to a couple of osteopaths before but never got my pain problem sorted out before now. Tracey was really friendly and professional and I felt really comfortable with her. She did some treatment where my back and shoulder hurt but she also explained how a long term issue with my hip was making my back worse and treated that too. Everything she did was really gentle. We practiced an exercise to help make my back and hip move better, and then she even emailed it to me so I wouldn't forget how to do it. After a few treatments my shoulder improved a lot and my back felt fine. If I ever need treatment again, I'm going to Tracey.

Osteopathy and Osteopathic Healthcare Services

Osteopaths are regulated healthcare professionals just like doctors, midwives and nurses are. I am fully qualified, insured and by law registered with the General Osteopathic Council. In addition to a Masters in Osteopathic Medicine, I hold a degree in psychology and am trained in NLP, cognitive coaching, and sleep coaching. I am also a member of the Osteopathic Sports Care Association, the International Society for the Study of Pain, and work for Great Britain Ultimate as part of the medical team for Team GB at international events.

How I work

As an osteopath, I will both observe and feel how your body moves as a whole – not just the part that hurts. I’ll follow that with any medical assessment or orthopaedic examinations needed in order to diagnose the problem and find out what is contributing to your pain.

Then we can discuss what kind of treatment would be best and will help you regain an improved state of health. I usually suggest a progression of gentle physical techniques, streatches and movement based strategies to increase joint mobility, relieve pain, encourage blood flow and neuromuscular activation and to help your body’s own natural tendency to heal.

I will offer you no nonsense treatment with my hands – but also practical and realistic lifestyle, exercise and dietary advice to help you recover faster.

I aim to help you as quickly as possible and get you on the road to looking after yourself, without unnecessary trips to the clinic.

If you need referral to another kind of healthcare provider, I will arrange this and work with them to get you better faster.  I work cooperatively with many different healthcare providers, including GPs, consultants, physiotherapists, podiatrists and chiropodists.

What can I help you with?

I have helped a large variety of people, including casual and elite sportspeople, elderly people, manual workers and those stuck at a desk. People come to me for help with a range of problems including but not limited to back pain, neck pain, work strains, arthritis pains, sciatica, sprains, muscle aches and sports injuries. I also see people for individual health coaching sessions revolving around sleep and stress management.  The most common things I see in clinic include:

  • low back pain
  • disc problems with or without sciatica or referred pain
  • sports injuries
  • shoulder problems including frozen shoulder and rotator cuff injuries
  • neck pain and headaches
  • plantar fasciitis
  • muscle strains
  • difficulty sleeping

What kind of treatments are used?

I use gentle and effective treatments in helping you feel better and in helping your body regain it’s full potential.  Gentle techniques help to reduce pain while minimising side effects, and movement based techniques encourage the body – under supervision – to regain it’s ability to move well and without pain.  Each person is different, so each person’s treatment will vary, and I’ll work with you throughout your treatment  maximise the benefit and minimise the number of sessions you would need.  You’ll always get self care advice and/or exercises to help you keep improving between sessions,  and you will leave your course of treatment with a toolbox of strategies to help keep you well. In the event you need more complex care, I’ll refer you and work with your healthcare team along your road to recovery.

The treatments that I might use include

  • soft tissue techniques and manipulations
  • joint mobilisations and movements
  • stretches and stretch and contraction movement based techniques
  • sports taping or strapping, as appropriate
  • postural and movement retraining guidance
  • workstation assessements and home setup help
  • exercise advice and programmes to rehabilitate and later to help prevent further injury
  • mindfulness approaches to aid in recovering from chronic pain
  • sleep coaching for when loss of sleep is a contributor to pain

Both cash and cards are very welcome.  If booking a Telehealth or Coaching call, payment will be requested prior to the call and can be made via Paypal or Stripe.

Do you take private insurance?

I can do electronic billing for the following companies:

  • Allianz

  • Aetna
  • Vitality
  • WPA

When booking you must provide your insurer name, membership number and authorisation code.  You must agree to pay any fees not covered by the insurer within 7 days of being invoiced.

I've never been to an osteopath - does treatment hurt?

I use very gentle techniques, and avoid 'the crack' that sometimes people are afraid of.  Sometimes people will experience a little bit of discomfort, but I aim to minimise that -and I'll walk you through what to expect in your situation before asking if you are OK for me to proceed.  You can always tell me to stop if you are not comfortable.

Can I bring someone with me?

Yes! You are always welcome to bring someone with you into your session if you would be more comfortable.  If you are under 18, you must come in with a parent.

What is your clinic like?

The photo below is the clinic treatment room.  It's big, airy, bright and calm.  I aim to provide a space for your session that allows us to work together in movement and provide a peaceful environment for your treatment.
